Dear Sir,

Sub: Inadequate/Short supply of water at 34,35th crosses and part of 18th main in HBR layout, 5th block, 1st stage, Bangalore-43

We, the residents of 34,35th crosses and part of 18th main in HBR layout, 5th block, 1st stage, Bangalore-43 would like to bring to your kind notice that we are facing acute water shortage problem for the last 1 month. Hence we are forced to bring up the matter to your high office to sort out this perennial problem.
Please note that on our request (letter enclosed) you had installed a stop-valve at the intersection of 34th cross and 18th main to facilitate the most affected residents of 34 and 35 crosses and part of 18th main to get better supply of water. After installing the valve, Mr. Chelapathy, during one of his visits to our road, had agreed to keep the said installed valve closed by fewer turns and arrange for better supply of water on equitable basis. Since our houses are on the gradient, we do not get water unless the said valve is kept closed by fewer turns. But unfortunately, your valve men Lokesh and Satish in the presence of Mr.Engappa had opened this valve completely last week. Because of this mischief act to please some vested interests, we are put into hardship.

Therefore, we, with no other alternative, submit our grievances to you Sir and request your good selves to look into the matter and instruct the engineers to close 34th cross valve by fewer turns and restore better water supply to all the residents equally.

Sub: Short supply of water at 34th, 35th crosses and some parts of 18th main in HBR 5th block, 1st stage, Bangalore-560043

We the residents of 34th, 35th crosses and some parts of 18th main wish to bring to your kind notice and inform you that we are the worst affected people in HBR 5th block with regard to poor water supply. The affected houses are shown in the enclosed map for your reference. To sort out these problem, BWSSB officials Mr.Mallareddy, Mr.Chelapathy and ward councilor Mr.Govindaraju visited the affected roads some time back and arranged/instructed to install a stop valve at 18th main that intersects with 34th cross (opposite to site 1409) to facilitate the affected residents to get sufficient water. But unfortunately the valve was installed at a wrong place i.e. at 38th cross intersection (opposite to Door No.1420). Even after installation of stop valve, our water crisis was not got solved. We have been complaining constantly about the short supply of water for the last 6 months. In spite of our repeated hue and cry, there is no improvement in water supply.

Therefore, we would like to suggest you a remedial measure that is to shift the stop valve from the present position to 34th cross intersection (as shown in sketch) or alternatively have a additional stop valve to give relief rather a new life to these affected residents.
Please note that we met you on 26th Oct 2010 and submitted our grievances at your office along with our Association office bearers. Mr.V.Mahesh, ACE and Mr.Chelapathy, AE were also present in the meeting. In the meeting you had instructed the officials 1) to remove unauthorized connections in the nearby areas, 2) to remove and change the present valve-man and 3) to stop diverting the water to the newly built apartments. Mr.V.Mahesh, ACE had also agreed to visit the affected area. But to our dismay nothing has happened till date and we still continue to suffer without proper water supply. Our contention is that why our pocket is not getting water while the adjacent road 17th C main is getting enough water.

We are sick of contacting your engineers for supply of water through tankers and spend our morning hours on supply days to contact up to chief engineers and send sms to all including you. Our ladies are approaching Joicee madam to press their grievances to your madam.

We are forwarding you our earlier complaint letters for your kind reference and request you to kindly look into the matter and resolve our water crisis immediately.

Sub: Over flow of sewage water and blockage in side drains in 18th and 19th Main, 5th block, HBR layout. Ward-24

This is to bring to your kind notice that on 18th and 19th Main, 5th block, 1st Stage HBR layout, the sewage pipes have been blocked / Chocked and the sewage water overflows through man-hole chamber and flow on the roads and subsequently into side drains. We are facing this problem for the last 15 days and have got it to the notice of the Concerned Area Engineer/BWSSB officials and no action has been initiated in this regard till date. Hence once again we write this letter.

As the side drains are with full of mud and debris, the sewage water doesn’t flow and stagnates, raising too much stinky smell. Although your BWSSB Engineers from Kalyan nagar have visited our layout on our repeated complaints, this problem has not been solved till date. As the rainy season is just round the corner; there are much likely chances of break of epidemic diseases.





We request your good self to have a spot inspection conducted along with Ward Councilor and other office members to look into the problems faced by us and a speedy resolution of the same.

Cow menace and Garbage pose health hazard

Dear Sir,
Sub: Vacant sites behind our row of houses posing health hazard at 19th main,5th block, HBR layout.

We, the residents of 18th main would like to bring to your kind notice that behind our houses, i.e. from site No’s: 1361 to 1368 in 18th main, there are vacant sites in 19th main i.e. site No’s 1280 to 1287 which are lying vacant since inception of this layout and seem not allotted to anybody by BDA. These sites are being used as garbage yard and public toilet by the slum dwellers who are camping in 19th main for over 10 years. Apart from this, these sites are also used as cattle breeding center and it is a breading ground of mosquitoes and other disease spreading flies and insects. Nearly 10 to 15 cows are brought from elsewhere for milking during early morning hours; and after that it’s left free in the layout for graze. Besides, the cows and buffaloes roam in the streets and defecate all over the places, making nuisance to the residents/motorist. We are unable to keep the doors and windows of our house open as the stench of cow dung stored here is unbearable and with a fear that the flies and mosquitoes would come into our houses.





There is another garbage yard- just 40 feet away from this place under the Transformer and not cleaned regularly.
We request your goodself to have a spot inspection conducted along with your ward Councilor and other officer members to look into the problems faced by us and a speedy resolution of the same.
