The Chairman,
BWSSB,

Dear Respected Sir,

Sub: Blockage in sewer lines and overflowing of sewage water through manhole chamber in HBR 5thblock. Ward-24

This is to inform you that sewage water is overflowing thro’ manhole chamber at 19th main, in front of house No.1282 (at intersection of 36th cross) in HBR 5thblock. Please note there was a blockage last week in the same sewer line, adjacent to the manhole where now it is overflowing. Bringing jetting machine the choke was cleaned. Now there is one more sewer line got choked at 18thmain, in front of house No.1412. Therefore, we request you to kindly arrange for the super sucker/jetting machine immediately and remove the blockages at both the places and also please check the sewer pipes to the full stretch of 18thand 19th main to prevent any blockage in future. As the rainy season is just around the corner, there are chances of out break of epidemic diseases.

We also would like to bring to your kind notice that it has been observed the sewer pipes get clogged very often and sewage water overflows through manhole chamber and run onto the road creating foul smell and causing hardship to the residents.

The sewer pipes 9” of size were laid long back when the number of houses in this layout were very less and since the number of houses is increased to many folds and many more sewer pipes from adjacent areas are connected to the 19th main pipe, it is not sustaining the large volume of sewage water running in these pipes, that causes overflow. Another reason being at many places the chambers’ manhole lids are either not placed properly or damaged; and in some cases the chamber’s mouth itself got damaged.

Hence, we request you to kindly look into the matter like replacing the broken lids, repairing the chamber’s mouth, cleaning/de-silting of sewer lines and laying of bigger size pipes at 18thand 19th mains to have smooth flow of water.

Thanking you,

With warm regards

Dear Sir,

Sub: Blockage in sewer pipes and overflowing of sewage water through manhole chamber in HBR 5thblock. Ward-24

This is to inform you that sewage water is overflowing thro’ manhole chamber (no lid found) at 19thmain in HBR 5th block, near KEB transformer. The overflowing sewage water is running on the road and has gone up to 39th cross. As we brought this matter to your notice on 7th, Monday, 2 scavengers came on the next day itself and tried to remove the blockage manually. Since they couldn’t clean the choked sewer, we were told that jetting machine has to be brought to clean the pipes. Therefore, we request you to kindly arrange for the super sucker/jetting machine immediately and remove the blockage. Otherwise the whole area is going to stink.

We also would like to bring to your kind notice that it has been observed the sewer pipes get clogged very often and sewage water overflows through manhole chamber and run onto the road creating foul smell and causing hardship to the residents.

The sewer pipes 9” of size were laid long back when the number of houses in this layout were very less and since the number of houses is increased to many folds and many more sewer pipes from adjacent areas are connected to the 19th main pipe, it is not sustaining the large volume of sewage water running in this pipe, that causes overflow. Another reason being, as you know very well that at many places the chambers’ manhole lids are either not placed properly or damaged; and in some cases the chamber’s mouth itself got damaged.

Hence, we request you to kindly look into the matter like replacing the broken lids, repairing the chamber’s mouth, cleaning/de-silting of sewer pipes and laying of bigger size pipes at 18th and 19th mains to have smooth flow of water before the out break of dengue or malaria in our area.

Thanking you

With warm regards

Dear respected Mr. M. Laxminarayana,

Sub: Improper and Shortage of water supply to HBR 5th block. 1st stage, Ward No: 24

Please refer to your message addressed to BWSSB Chairman as reiterated below, with a copy to us on 16th April 2012 for your easy and quick understanding. Thank you very much for sparing your valuable time and intervening in our water crisis to find a solution.

(Dear Sir, The maximum number of complaints received regarding improper supply of water is from the HBR Layout Area.   The issue was brought to the notice of the Hon'ble Chief Minister and I have been directed to get a report within 3 days on exactly what is the problem along with a solution to over come the issue.   The action taken on this issue may please be informed to the CMO.

 With Regards,

M.Laxminarayana,

Principal Secretary to Hon'ble Chief Minister,)

We, the residents of 34, 35th crosses and part of 18,19th mains in HBR layout, 5th block, 1st stage, Bangalore-43, Ward-24 would like to bring to your kind notice that we are facing acute water shortage problem for the last 9 months. In spite of our several complaints to BWSSB, improper and deficient water supply problem is persisting till date inspite of your above said message. Hence we are forced to bring up the matter to your high office to sort out this perennial problem once again. After receiving your message, we were very happy and thought that the water problem would be solved. But to our dismay, even after the lapse of 35 days, the water supply position has not been improved in any manner. Earlier (3months back) we used to get water supply from 6AM to 10 AM and nowadays we get supply only from 6AM to 7 - 7.15AM. We don’t get water with sufficient and proper pressure and that too for short duration. There was a plan of connecting a link pipe from adjacent road pipes (where there is enough water flow) to 18thmain pipe some time back by BWSSB officials. But that has never happened. Then again the officials were telling us that once the erection of pump house is completed by March end, then there wouldn’t be any water problem. This is also not happened till date and we don’t know when this will happen. We undergo a lot of mental anguish on every water supply days and facing hardship to manage our life.

Therefore, we, with no other alternative, submit our grievances to you Sir and request your good selves to look into the matter seriouslyand instruct the East division E-1 engineers to take up some corrective measures/actions to address this problem in the affected areas and restore normal water supply with adequate pressure.

Thank you Sir,

With warm regards
